❀ a few little updates

[currently listening to" Deer in the Headlights" by Owl City, because I'm
slightly obsessed with Adam's fabulous new CD, All Things Bright and Beautiful.]

1) Thanks!

First, I just wanna thank y'all for the sweet comments you left on my last post!! I really appreciated your thoughts and prayers. I've recovered just fine from my wisdom teeth extraction. The experience wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be... although I'm still very glad to have it over with! ;)

2) Driving.

Yep. I spent a few days last month at drivers ed class. I now have my permit, and my dad has been taking me out to do some practice driving. I've still got some stuff to learn, but I know it will get easier the more I do it. I've definitely come a long way from when I first drove with my teacher. lol :P It will be so nice to finally get my license. Right now I just need to practice, practice, practice though!

{ found this cute pic on Rachel's blog awhile back :) }

3) New blog button!

I now have a blog button to go with this design. All the credit goes to my sweet friend Julia. She designed it for me, without me even asking! I had tried designing a button for this design before, but I never could get it to look right. Now I have one that is just perfect! Thanks again, Julia!! ;)

Y'all can grab the code on my sidebar over there --> if you'd like.

4) Fourth of July pics.

Okay, so it's August 1st, and I'm just now getting around to posting the Fourth of Julys pics I mentioned in my last post. *facepalm* Yeah. At least I'm posting them at all! These were all taken on July 4th weekend, when we went on a little trip to a lake in our area. I decided to put al the pics in one simple slideshow, so they won't make this post super long. Just fyi, some of them aren't really edited. Yes, I was lazy. :P

And... that brings me to the end of this much needed update. I'm getting worse and worse at keeping my blog updated. I've thought about just switching to Tumblr, but our computer never cooperates when I get on there. o_o So.... I will be on blogger for the foreseeable future. I don't know if I could've brought myself to make the switch anyway (although tumblr seems way less time consuming than blogging, so I'd be more likely to post). But unless I can figure out a way to get it to run smoothly, I'll just stay here.

Okay, I'm done. :)

I love your blog button! it goes perfectly.

your pictures are fantastic. LOVE the water bokeh. aside: when i read the caption "a daisy/weed" in my head, i omitted the slash, so i read it as "daisyweed." i think that's what i'm going to start calling those dainty white flowers from now on, haha.

i use tumblr as well as blogger, and to hear that you had problems with it is not surprising... it's not uncommon for it to take a long time to load, or for it not to load at all, simply because so many people are using it all the time. if it starts working for you, i'd like to know what you think about it versus blogger. do you still have your tumblr site up at all?

Annie,
Thanks! Haha... yeah, I never really know what to call those. Daisyweed sounds good to me! :P

Well, I actually just made a "test" tumblr for myself, so I could get a feel for how it works compared to blogger. Almost every time I log in though, our computer freezes. o_o It's pretty annoying, because I think tumblr would be the better option for me. Blogging just takes too much of my time, and tumblr seems like a lot of fun! I'll let you know if it ends up working out or not.

Thanks for the comment! :)

Glad your wisdom teeth surgery went well! My sister just had hers taken out, and she was also saying how it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be :)

Have a great day!

Great update, Lindsay! I got my permit about two months ago, so I've been doing a bit of driving as well. I've been learning on my dad's car, which is a stick shift and it's going pretty well. The sad part is, he drives it to work during the week, so since I haven't driven the mini-van (yet!), I don't get to go out as much as I would like too. But in the evenings and weekends, I'm always willing to drive them if they need to go somewhere. ;)

I'm glad you are recovering from your wisdom teeth extraction. Two years ago both my daughters had their wisdom teeth out. Well, the eldest had all four removed but poor Leah only had one done and will be going back for the other three in a couple years. They recovered just fine and enjoyed their ice cream dinners! :)

Leah just got her permit so we're doing a lot of practicing around here, too. Isn't it fun? I admit to getting a little upset and calling out (loudly) "STOP"! to her yesterday and it frightened her a bit. Oooops! We moms try not to do such things but sometimes we just can't help it.

My girls love Owl City here, too. Adam Young was just here but we didn't know about it in time to get tickets, unfortunately.

I love your photos, they're great!

Sereina,
Oh, I didn't know you're learning to drive too! It sounds like you're doing well with it. I still need some practice myself. I'm not to the point of volunteering to drive yet. lol =D

Can Do Mom,
Leah told me about that! Ice cream and pudding were definitely a must for me too. ;) Yeah, driving is pretty fun... I still need to get more used to it, I think. Haha... my mom is the same way. So far my dad's been the one practicing with me. Mom will be taking me out to do some driving too though, and I know she'll be a bit nervous. lol :P Oh, that's too bad y'all couldn't get tickets to the Owl City concert! :( I'd love for him to come here, but sadly he doesn't have a concert scheduled anywhere near where we live. Oh well.
